Full Tummy Tuck

Sometimes liposuction is not enough to flatten the abdomen. In these cases a separate surgical intervention is requried in order to make the abdomen flatter and leaner. Excess skin is removed and the abdominal wall muscles are stretched and tightened.
The amount of excess fat and on the width of the abdomen are parameters which should be taken into consideration when the surgeons estimate the duration of the surgery. Recovery usually takes 3 weeks as there for ten to fourteen days there is an increased sensitivity in the abdominal region.
As long as the patient follows a balanced diet, regularly exercises and carefully follows the surgeon’s instructions the results are guaranteed to last a lifetime. As an extra bonus of the tummy tuck surgery, the waist will be smaller as well.
Tummy tuck procedures generally involve an incision above the pubic bone, the length of which depends on the scale of the tuck. The skin is separated from the abdominal muscles from the navel up until beneath the rib cage, and the abdominal wall muscles are tightened and stitched into their new location.
The result is a firmer and tighter abdominal wall. A new umbilicus is cut and put into place as the skin is tightened and the excess skin is removed. Tummy tucks procedures are often preformed in conjunction with a liposuction, in order to remove excess fat.
